Today we rode the traditional Sunday ride in Gary's honor. This was Kathy's idea, and although Dustin and I don't usually make the weekend rides because of the way our family schedule works out, we made it work today by taking one scooter and the car. There were four of us riding today: Kathy, Tom, Matthew and me.
We met at the North Market at noon. We had coffee and took some pics. I apologize for the brightness. I think the settings have inadvertently changed at the hands of our budding photographer. I'm going to ask a friend who is good at this stuff to fix them up for me before I pass along requested copies, but I wanted to get these posted today.
Meeting up at the North Market, coffee in hand.
We're in missing man formation here. Two ladies stopped on their way in to the market to admire our scooters, and asked about Tom's Friends of Gary banner. I know at least a couple of us wished we had packed tissues at that point.
We salute you, dear friend.
Next, we headed out to play a little tag. Gary was really good at tag, and would have gotten ours in minutes! (Pics will be posted in the tag thread, so we can continue the game.)
Heading down High Street...
to North Bank Park.
Then, off to the new tag.
We had to take a short detour for snow. Fwap, fwap, fwap, the photographer got a little icy.
Then we headed north to Capital City Scooters. We visited with everyone and saw the shop. It will be beautiful when it opens! I've picked out some shirts that I *need*.
From what I hear, it's not a Sunday ride unless you stop for food. We hit the Blue Danube before everyone headed their own ways on this damp afternoon.
Thank you, Kathy, for organizing this. It's not the same as the ride yesterday obviously, but it was really nice to get out to see friends and think about past good times.
