I think the weather is supposed to be nice, I'm just wondering... 8) Sally

Yes, we shall ride this weekend. We are running out of Sundays. As per our tradition, meet at N. Market at noon. This may be the last group ride of the season. Let's take a run up to Delaware and see our youngest member, Amelia. Then, we can stop in for a coffee or a beer like we did last year.

I should clear this with Chris and Julie, but we can still do the run. 8)

Just a heads up, Obama and Mrs. Obama will be at a rally at the Statehouse on Sunday, gates open at 11 and program at 1 so there is bound to be a lot of traffic heading into downtown around noon.

Another ride I have to miss. :x I am flying to Boston early Sunday to spend the week with my Dad who is ill. But I do have the Termoscud blanket and the tall Givi windscreen installed on my GTS for cold weather so from where I sit (on the scooter) there's going to be plenty of riding opportunities left this year--maybe.

I hope your dad is better soon! Btw, where did you get your Termoscud? Those look like a great item. If I had known about that I would have gotten it instead of a scooter skirt(more protection)...thanks, Sally

Thanks for the kind words regarding my Dad. I got the Termoscud as part of a group buy that an MV member did last Fall directly from Italy. It would be very expensive to order just one directly from the maker Tucano Urbano. There are a few US dealers that stock them. If my memory serves me (a dicey proposition) the Vespa dealer in Wahington DC had them last year.

Nice! Only problem is that Amelia and Julie are in Dayton. I'm here though, and I'd be happy to have a beer (or coffee) with y'all. They'll be back around 2pm, but I'd imagine the ride will be finished by then....

SUNDAY

Postby OldbusGuy » Sun Nov 09, 2008 10:37 am

Well are we done? Is the year over? Are the Vespa's all in bed till spring? Am I wasting my time and money going to Iron pony and getting a new pair of gloves? Two Jacks chicken blew off her scoot and was lost forever. I guess we'll have to wait till spring to get her a new one.

I'll keep an eye out for Two Jack's chicken. My Vespa isn't in bed for the year but it's taking a nap for the day. I think we'll have more riding days. Just not this one.

Ours are definitely not hibernating for the winter, although the poor thing was sputtering and stalling the other night to the point I thought I wouldn't make it home. It's due for some attention to be sure.

I need to install my windscreen, and get some warmer gloves but I'm not ready to quit yet.

I will keep riding, but not today:) I'm glad not to be the only one who didn't want to go out today, it's going to take a little acclimating to the weather for it not to feel raw...I live on a slight rise/hill and the wind blasts up my front yard most of the winter(front 2 acres, we live on 5). That depends if you're still riding or not. I think nice warm days are numbered.....which probably means group rides are about done. I can't stand riding in the cold. No matter how warm I dress, I am still miserable. But I haven't stored the scoots for the winter just yet.
